We had an opportunity to chat with Luke about his body of work. Check the interview below.

Luke GuldanHi Luke! Thanks for speaking with us. We’re excited to chat about The Broken Ones! Tell us more about the film and your character.

The Broken Ones Ois a film about overcoming personal fears and tragedies. It’s based on true events about the loss of a family member in the World Trade Center 9/11 attacks. I play Trent Kelly, the brother of Andrea Kelly (Cece King) who is dealing with the loss of his father in 9/11 while trying to keep the family together leading up to the 10 year anniversary of the attacks. I also recently had the opportunity to meet some of the family who the film was based on at the SOHO International Film Festival. It was an amazing experience to be involved with such a powerful and personal story.

You recently appeared in NBC’s “The Good Place”. Tell us more!

Yes! I play Chris Baker, a mailman from New Jersey who is Eleanor’s (Kristen Bell) new soulmate at the end of season one. The Good Place is a town where those who have been good throughout their lives go once they have passed away. Michael (Ted Danson) is the architect who oversees the town. Eleanor (Kristen Bell) arrives at The Good Place, and realizes she doesn’t deserve to be there.

You have also appeared in some amazing shows such as Broad City, Law & Order: SVU, Blue Bloods, Gossip Girl and The Colbert Report. What have been your biggest takeaways from working on these shows?

I’d say the biggest takeaway for me is to always be prepared but never ready. The process of filming goes fast, as does the moment – so doing my homework but also remembering to try and enjoy the experience while it lasts. Broad City was awesome on so many levels. It was a really welcoming and creative environment which gave me a lot of confidence to have fun and just go for it.

Is there a particular role you would love to play in a production?

Chris Keller in Arthur Miller’s All My Sons. It’s a powerful and important play.

Thus far, what has been your best experience working in the entertainment industry?

I have had a lot of case-specific great experiences thus far and I’m looking forward to having new great ones, but I feel a universal “great experience” in this specific field, the entertainment industry, is witnessing the actualization of people’s dreams: having a vision, a dream or something written and being a part of having that “idea” created into something real. That is a great experience, every time.

Do you have any upcoming projects that we haven’t mentioned?

The Good Place season two premieres September 28th on NBC. And I’m currently working on a few personal projects that I’m excited to share and I will release more information soon on my Instagram (@lukeguldanofficial).

Q7. Complete this sentence, if I had an opportunity to do anything I want, I would ___________.

If I had an opportunity to do anything I want, I would “do good.” I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what is right and just and good, and what that means and, more importantly, what it means to do it. The opportunity is the choice and I think our choices determine who we are. Knowing that I’m striving to good with the time and opportunities I have.
