Emerging model and actress, Katiana Upton. She has walked on the runway for a number of companies and causes including Susan G. Komen, LA Fashion
Week and Style Fashion Week. We had an opportunity to chat with Katiana. Check it out below!

You’re at the beginning of your career as an actress. How has the journey been, thus far?

It has been a lot of fun.  I get to travel a lot and see new places and things.  When I audition, I often times get to see other young actors that I have met on this journey…we often make play dates.  I find that I have to really work hard at being an actress.  I have to remember lines, express feelings, and sometimes do things I am not comfortable doing.  I really like what I do and want to do more, but I know I have to continue working very hard.

You played “The Kid” in Hide and Seek 9: Hide Harder.  Tell us about your role.

This film was so much fun.  I loved my mom and dad.  I was treated like a princess.  I do not like dark places, so when they put me in a dark closet, I freaked out at first.  The cast members talked to me and reassured me that nothing was going to happen.  Thanks to their coaxing, I was eventually able to be in that dark room alone.  In the role, I was playing hide and seek with my mom and dad.  Mom and dad were trying to be the first one to find me…they had a little game of their own going on.

You’re acting in the movie The Estruscan Smile (2017).  Tell us about your character and the movie.

I am unable to discuss anything about the movie at this time – I signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement.  But, I think you’re going to like it.

When you’re acting, tell us what experiences you draw on to play the role.

I am always happy and bubbly so I draw on my natural talents.  When I am required to be sad or cry, I think of something sad and something that has made me cry.  I love animals, so I am natural when I am working with animals.  When I have to act at being mean or yelling, I think about what I have seen on television and try to imitate those actors.

Let’s talk modeling.  You have walked on the runway for a number of companies and causes including Susan G. Komen, LA Fashion Week, and Style Fashion Week.

I love modeling.  I love fashion and being able to model clothing from comfortable playwear, fashionable designs that are on the cutting-edge, and beautiful gowns.  When I walk the runway, I am so confident in myself and I do not get frightened when I see all the people, the bright lights, the flashes from so many photographers, and the people who come to these exciting events.  I love hearing the crowd roar when I walk and when I pose for the photographers.  It is so exciting.  It is also meaningful to me when I walk to help certain causes, such as the Special Olympics or the Susan G. Komen.

What types of roles would you like to be cast in?

I would like to be cast in a Disney or Nickelodeon part because some of my favorite characters are on those shows and I would like to join in on the fun.  Those shows have inspired me to do my best when auditioning or playing a role.  I look up to them and aspire to be the best.

Thus far, what has been the best experience working in the industry?

Traveling to new locations and getting to see the countryside.  I have traveled to places I may not have traveled to, were it not for this industry and the opportunity it provides.  I have met so many great, new friends along the way and yet it allows me to be a kid and play with my new friends and have continued friendships and playdates when the work is done. I have pushed myself beyond what I thought I could do and have had experiences I may have not otherwise experienced.

What do you like to do between productions?

I love learning about all kinds of things.  I really like gymnastics, swimming, and bike riding. I love to go camping and visiting my grandparents.  I am learning to read so I try to read at least a book a day.  I love going to the park, zoo, and visiting museums. I currently take swim lessons, violin and, dance lessons.  I also love to build fairy gardens and Lego designs.

I am also an ambassador for several Anti-Bullying Campaigns and because of this I have the opportunity to meet lots of other young actors and actresses and we share a common cause – Say NO to Bullying.

Do you have any upcoming projects that we haven’t mentioned?

I am so excited and honored to walk in New York Fashion Week in September.  I have a few other pending projects and I don’t want to jinx them, so just wish me luck.

Complete this sentence.  If I had an opportunity to do anything I want, I would

Be a character in a Disney movie and a dress designer.
