As fans, we often don’t think of production, such as organizing  a major event, like The Phoenix Fan Fest 2016. The event was held on October 22nd & 23rd, and it did not disappoint! Like a kid waiting for the next Marvel movie release,  I could scarcely contain my enthusiasm. What I found amazing was the attention to detail. A lot of preparation takes place, from the vendor setup to  autograph booths,  and even the Q&A panels for fans to meet and greet their favorite celebrities. Everything had to be perfect because many fans travel out-of-state to attend.

Speaking of Q&A’s, I attended The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. panel hosted by Brett Dalton, who played Agent Grant Ward, and Elizabeth Henstridge, who plays Agent Jemma Simmons. It was fantastic! The hosts had an opportunity to discuss the fourth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. , which explores the totally covert agency’s emergence from the shadows. Brett and Elizabeth were very open and candid in their responses to the audience questions. The fans loved it. Watch highlights of the panel filmed by Nai Wang.

Brett and Elizabeth were so humble, funny, and welcoming toward their fans. It left the fans wanting more. I arrived early to ask them a question, and compliment their diverse acting talents, which Brett segued into mentioning his upcoming film, “The Resurrection of Gavin Stone,” where he plays a washed-up actor that acquires the role of Jesus in a church production by pretending to be Christian. It premieres January 20, 2017.  Additionally, I had an opportunity to speak Brett and Elizabeth’s assigned assistants for the fan fest, Erin and Betsy. They operated the autograph tables for the weekend. They were awesome. When asked about their Phoenix Fan Fest experience, Betsy, Elizabeth’s assistant, remarked, “I really enjoy seeing Elizabeth and the other actors interact with their fans. She is so charming.” I totally agreed! Everyone was excellent.

After the Q&A, Brett and Elizabeth had another meet and greet.  I was able to meet them personally. Brett made the meeting unique by posting a tweet under my Twitter account, when I handed him my phone. Yup! Bucket list item achieved! See below.

I would say between this & my Luke Cage experience, I’m all-in for Marvel this fall season.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs every Tuesday at 10:00 PM(EST) on ABC. Check your local listings for time in your area.

Update: Erin, Brett’s Phoenix Fan Fest assistant, said, “Brett was wonderful to work with!”
