The Jacks are an uncompromising rock and roll band with a fondness for stones-y licks and vintage-sounding tunes. Hailing from Los Angeles, these talented musicians have been rocking Southern California since their inception in 2016, and they are not planning on slowing down. It’s not easy to get noticed in a city like Los Angeles, where the competition is fierce. However, The Jacks are determined to leave their mark, one song at a time.
Their driven shows and memorable tunes are unquestionably garnering a lot of positive feedback throughout the local scene and not only.
Their recent release, She’s a Mystery, will please any fan of bands, such as The Strokes, Jet, or The Hives with its well-calibrated indie rock recipe. Choppy, rhythm-driven guitar riffs, sustained bass tones that work well with the steady drums, as well as charismatic lead vocals.
The song kicks in with a very unapologetic rock’n’roll grit, only to slow down in the pre-chorus. The laid-back vibes in this section of the song work well because they allow the band to relax their dynamics, leading up to the chorus. As a result, the energy of the hook naturally increases, as the whole group launches into it as a powerful unit, going all out.
