After producing a low budget film that generated a 5000 percent return (Q: The Movie), Hooks would receive the backing of major distributors such as MGM. Fast forward to 2021. Hooks is currently wrapping production on his latest film, Adam and Eve, under his production company Left of Bang Entertainment. Set in the charming backdrop of San Francisco, the movie follows the tale of two soulmates, whose lives change when their checkered pasts come to light.
While this was quite a fete to film during the pandemic, Hooks has chosen to simultaneously lend his experience to launching a virtual filmmaking school scheduled to open in February. “I was thinking about suicide rates going up and I said ‘I’ve got to figure out a way to push forward, because these kids don’t really have the liberty to wait until COVID is over,” Hooks states, “If these kids had to choose between shooting a gun or shooting a movie, they would choose the latter every time.” Occhi Magazine has the great pleasure of sitting down and talking with this multi-talented creator. In a world of many questions, there is at least one artist who has chosen to find the answers.
