The pandemic took the world by storm.  People were isolated from loved ones, families were put under the stress of all sorts, and the world seemingly came to an eerie standstill.  At least that is what happened with MOST people.  But Truth Revolution Recording Collective would not be separated from its family nor its music.  Over 44 world-renowned musicians came “together” from across the world (literally) and recorded tracks during lockdown to bring to you 17 tracks of wonderful music, aptly named Together Again.  Born out of trying circumstances the musicians overcame many obstacles and created some truly amazing music!

Its been exactly ten years since the first critically acclaimed label compilation entitled, Together which featured arrangements of Christmas classics.  Ten years later, TRRC has created some truly genius arrangements of classical music pieces that I’m sure all listeners will enjoy.  From the jubilant opening, Fanfare for the Common Man and the hypnotic afro-Cuban arrangements of Capriccio Espagnol Op. 24 Mvt. IV and Ode to Joy to the swinging rendition of Clair de Lune, this album has some all-time “classic” classical music favorites that have been “revolutionized” with some twists!  The arrangements are inventive and unique making each track have a distinctive sound, and the playing is second to none with sensitive interpretations of these timeless melodies, and the improvising is worthy enough to stand shoulder to shoulder with the classical forefathers whom homage has been paid to.  Surely Mozart, Beethoven, Debussy, Stravinsky, Korsakov, Copeland, Tchaikovsky, and all the greats must be smiling that their works are being continued to be appreciated by both musicians and fans alike all these centuries later!

This project was developed by artists such as Zaccai Curtis, Luques Curtis, Darryl Yokley, Rachel Therrien, Brian McCarthy, Raymond McMorrin, Albert Rivera, and many others!  We are honored here at Occhi to have listened to this truly historic recording.  I think people hundreds of years from now will look back in awe at how this album was created and the love that was put into it during such difficult times.  Frederick Douglas once said “without struggle, there can be no process”… well the pandemic definitely was a struggle for many, but the progress towards some of the most artistic excellence was achieved in the process, and this is one of the finest diamonds ever found in the rough.
