Montreal’s Tina Leon is a singer and songwriter who draws her inspiration from the Motown generation and soul music of past decades. Her debut album “Push” is a soulful fusion of R&B, gospel, pop, and jazz influences that captures the singer’s comprehensive range and musicality. Her sophomore EP, titled “Pull”, tells a passionate story that focuses on romance, intimacy, and love, drawing the listener’s attention to particular moments and milestones when these themes who prominent in her life. With collaborations with the likes of Stevie Wonder and DJ Champion on her resume, she continues her upward trajectory.
Ahead of this year’s Montreal Jazz festival, the singer-songwriter is performing a free event, as part of Série Libre, presented by TD. This forms part of a three-part project that will give several artists free access to Le Studio TD to record a video about their life, a concert to get closer to their fans, as well as a professional recording of a song. This exceptional framework will contribute to kick-starting the music career of these young artists, exposing their work to more people. Tina Leon’s performance is tonight at 8 p.m. Doors will open at 7 p.m. First come, first served and no reservations are required.
The 43rd edition of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, presented by TD Bank Group in collaboration with Rio Tinto, will take place from June 29 to July 8, 2023, in the Quartier des spectacles.
