EFG London Jazz Festival is presenting The Jazz Social for the first time this November. It will be a new gathering place for music lovers and locals, featuring intimate live performances, artist signings, a pop-up record store, family events, live radio broadcasts, and more. The venue is located near the Barbican Centre and will be open for two weeks, offering a great spot for lunch breaks, after-work drinks, and a vibrant social hub for festival-goers. The pop-up venue, opening on Monday, 11 November, will be transformed into a lively space with an electric atmosphere. Visitors can expect a jazz cafe and bar serving specially brewed beers for the Festival, signature cocktails, and exclusive festival merchandise.
The Jazz Social is designed to foster a sense of community among festival attendees and local audiences; this destination space invites everyone to unwind and socialise in the Festival’s spirit of inclusivity and celebration. From intimate pre-concert conversations to lively discussions over drinks, The Jazz Social will create an atmosphere that encourages meaningful connections among artists, fans, and industry professionals.
The in-store record shop is powered by The Official Blue Note Records Pop-Up Store, relocating to The Jazz Social, and is now in its 5th year of operation during the EFG London Jazz Festival. The iconic jazz label celebrates its 85th anniversary this year, and they will boast one of the finest new jazz vinyl collections in the UK to browse and purchase at The Jazz Social, plus they’ll have exclusive offers, unique label clothing, and much more. The label’s exciting pop-up media partner is Everything Jazz, the online destination which brings together jazz music and culture.
The evenings will get underway with DJ sets with the likes of Tony Higgins (Japanese Jazz on Vinyl), Ceylan Göksel (My Analogue Journal) and Zak Hawkins (Rough Trade).As part of the Festival’s programming, there will be an exciting lineup of live performances and events at The Jazz Social. From free performances with the likes of Roberto Fonseca, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, and Occhi featured Ashaine White (pictured) to ticketed live performances from artists such as Bill Laurance (pictured)
