On Friday, February 28, at 7:30 pm at the David Rubenstein Atrium experience a free performance by Afro-Cuban singer-songwriter Daymé Arocena. Renowned for her innovative contributions to the contemporary Latin soul music scene, Arocena has captivated audiences with her powerful voice and creative self-orchestrations. Emerging from the Cuban thaw of the 2010s, the Havana-born artist has delivered a wealth of original music, most notably showcased in her acclaimed 2024 album, “Alkemi.”

NPR praises “Alkemi” as a blend of R&B, bossa nova, funk, and neo-soul, offering a rich tapestry for her dynamic vocals while venturing deeper into Latin pop.
