The Windrush Caribbean Film Festival (WCFF) is thrilled to announce its sixth annual edition, taking place from June 14 to June 29, 2025. This year’s festival promises to be a vibrant celebration of Caribbean cinema, culture, and community, showcasing powerful storytelling while emphasizing national impact, cultural education, and creative innovation.
Guided by the compelling 2025 theme, Belonging, Being, and Becoming, WCFF invites audiences to embark on a journey of exploration into identity, place, and transformation within the Black British and Caribbean experience. Through narratives of migration, memory, resistance, and joy, the festival honours the enduring legacies of the Windrush Generation while spotlighting forward-looking stories that shape the future of Caribbean cinema.
“WCFF is a celebration of history, identity, and creativity,” said Patricia Hamzahee OBE, Co-founder of the festival. “We remain committed to telling the stories that matter—stories that educate, inspire, and reflect the Black British and Caribbean experience.”
Garry Stewart, Co-founder and cultural advocate, added, “This year, we’re reaching further, engaging more communities, and championing both new and established filmmakers alike.”
The 2025 programme promises an exciting lineup of feature films, documentaries, shorts, and thought-provoking events. These will take place across selected venues—soon to be announced—and online, ensuring accessibility for audiences around the globe.
Key dates to mark: the official film selections will be unveiled on April 24, 2025, with the full programme and ticket sales opening shortly thereafter.
With its inclusive vision and commitment to impactful storytelling, WCFF 2025 is set to be its most transformative edition yet. Don’t miss the chance to be part of this celebration of Caribbean cinema and culture.
