Under The Arbor is an intimate and joyful journey through the heart of the Powwow trail, told by the dancers, singers, and families who live it. Filmed over one summer across Treaty 6 territory, this vibrant documentary follows champion dancers, grassroots drummers, and proud aunties as they gather in celebration, competition, and connection. With stunning visuals, humour, and heart, the film captures the energy of the arena and the quiet moments in between, revealing the deep cultural roots and personal stories behind the feathers and footwork. With her debut full-length film, Plains Cree director Hayley Morin captures a celebration of Indigenous identity, intergenerational knowledge, and the joy of being together, under the arbor.

The film features the musical talents of Juno award-winning musician Fawn Wood, a Cree and Salish singer-songwriter known for her work in revitalizing Indigenous languages and culture through traditional music and Cree Confederation, the Juno and Grammy award-nominated powwow drum group, known for their powerful vocals, original songs, and dedication to Cree culture.
