Jessica Jackson- Axis (Mixed Media 80-70) -Occhi Contemporary Art Gallery: Curating Inspiring Art Exhibitions and Supporting Visual Artists Worldwide

The Art of PR returned to London’s Coningsby Gallery in September with renewed energy and a clear mission: to spotlight the rich creative practice flourishing within the UK public relations community. From September 8–13th, the live showcase gathered practitioners whose daily craft in communications runs alongside vibrant—often unseen—studio work. The result: a dynamic mix of media, methods, and perspectives. Missed the gallery? You can still explore selected works on The Occhi Contemporary Art website until October 15th.

Among the most quietly magnetic voices is London-based artist Jessica Jackson. Her practice is rooted in intuition. Working automatically, she allows the unconscious to guide the process, so compositions emerge rather than declare themselves. The paintings feel discovered: layered surfaces where gesture, pause, and revision leave a trace.

Colour supports rather than dominates—tempered, responsive, and attuned to the work’s mood. Texture and mark-making take a central role: broad, quiet passages set up calm; denser, scored areas hold tension; repeated marks gather into a rhythm that’s more felt than seen. Forms appear at the edge of recognition, then soften back into atmosphere, inviting slower looking and a willingness to sit with ambiguity.

There’s a steady dialogue with the spiritual and the unseen. Symbols aren’t asserted; they surface as possibilities. The emphasis is on presence—on letting the image arrive in its own time rather than forcing resolution.

Jessica’s professional life offers a resonant counterpoint. For two decades, she has shaped narratives as a communications consultant in the entertainment sector, working with leading talent, and she currently serves as a communications consultant for the humanitarian organisation The Lotus Flower. That experience—listening closely, holding complexity, deciding what to bring into focus—echoes through the studio.
