Star2’s journey begins in the heart of adversity—a Thai refugee camp where he and his family fled the devastation of genocide in Myanmar. His village was reduced to ashes by the Burmese army, and only a lottery in the camp brought him, his grandmother, and her four children to the promise of a new beginning in San Diego. Out of hardship, Star2 found not just safety, but a calling.
Now mentored by the renowned producer Chico Bennett, Star2 has quickly become a dynamic force in Asian-American music. His collaborations read like a who’s who of hip hop—Soulja Boy, $tupid Young, Mozzy, MBNel, Luh Kel, Lil Poppa, HoodTrophy Bino, YSN Flow, and MarMar Oso, among others. When he’s not lighting up the stage on tour, Star2 invites fans behind the scenes with his popular ‘Adventures of Star2’ series on YouTube, offering an unfiltered look at his life, music, and creative process.

His latest single, “Kokaine,” is a bold collaboration with fellow refugee artists Eh La and Tae Tae. The track is a fiery blend of English and Thai, riding a hypnotic, hard-hitting beat that pulls listeners into the whirlwind of a love that’s as dangerous as it is addictive. “I’m addicted to your love like that Kokaine…” Star2 confesses, setting the tone for a song that’s groovy, volatile, and emotionally raw. Laced with frustration and honesty, “Kokaine” explores the push and pull of a toxic relationship, while the heavy production amplifies the drama and tension at its core.
With each release, Star2 proves that music can turn even the harshest beginnings into powerful, universal stories.
