The Stray Pursuit -Occhi Magazine: Showcasing Independent Artists, Creative Projects & Inspiring Stories in Visual Arts, Music, Film, and Literature
Emerging from Swansea’s vibrant alternative rock scene, The Stray Pursuit are making waves with their electrifying new single, “Coming Home.” Produced and recorded at Cardiff’s legendary Long Wave Recording Studios with Grammy-nominated producer Romesh Dodangoda, this latest release is a rallying cry—brimming with explosive guitar riffs and vocals that hit with both power and raw emotion.
“Coming Home” isn’t your typical homecoming anthem. Instead, the track serves as a wake-up call, exposing the illusion of freedom in a world dominated by government control and media deception. “It’s not about returning to safety,” the band shares. “It’s about waking up, breaking the spell, and realising that home was never what they said it was.” The result is a song that burns with urgency and truth, echoing the passion and melodic hooks of modern rock icons like Fall Out Boy and Green Day.
.
The Stray Pursuit is quickly establishing itself as a force to be reckoned with in the alternative rock world. Inspired by the likes of Royal Blood, Foo Fighters, and Nothing But Thieves, their music is defined by guitar-driven energy, captivating vocals, and a magnetic live presence. Their rise has been marked by high-profile support slots with Andrew Cushin, The K’s, and Vida, as well as performances alongside The Lottery Winners, Pastel, and Trampolene.
.
Recognition has come thick and fast. TSP were spotlighted on This Feeling’s “Big in 2025” and stormed the stage at the Isle of Wight Festival. They’ve also been longlisted as ones-to-watch for Drowned in Sound’s ‘Class of 2025’ in association with Music Venue Alliance.
The band’s journey has not been without heartache. Founding drummer Nicky Bevan’s passing in December 2022 was a devastating blow, but it inspired the band to carry on with renewed purpose—determined to honour Nicky’s legacy and fulfil their potential. Ben Lewis joined the group in April 2023, bringing new energy and completing the current line-up: frontman Aaron Morgan, lead guitarist Dylan Cooney, bassist Fred Wilkinson, and drummer Ben Lewis.

A new chapter began at Long Wave Studios, where The Stray Pursuit worked with Romesh Dodangoda to record their debut EP, “Domino Effect,” and a string of powerful singles. Their December 2023 South Wales tour saw sold-out shows at Cwrw in Carmarthen and The Moon in Cardiff, with headline gigs at their hometown venue, The Bunkhouse, consistently packing out crowds—including a triumphant show in June 2025 ahead of their Isle of Wight appearance.
.
Now, with “Coming Home” making its mark, The Stray Pursuit headlines Clwb Ifor Bach on October 24th. With tickets moving fast, it’s shaping up to be another sold-out night—a testament to their growing influence in the South Wales music scene.
For rock fans craving authenticity, powerful songwriting, and a band with genuine heart, the band is one to watch. “Coming Home” is out now—turn it up and feel the awakening.
