Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts returns with a Summer Season that understands something many venues forget: sometimes the most unforgettable performances aren’t the loudest ones. One of the most restorative offerings arrives mid-summer, where music is paired not with applause, but with presence.

Set in Caramoor’s tranquil Sunken Garden, this edition of the Music and Meditation series welcomes the estate’s first woodwind duo to the program—an intimate pairing designed for deep listening and gentle reset.

Flutist Adam W. Sadberry (pictured), winner of the Concert Artists Guild’s 2021 Victor Elmaleh Competition, has been carving out a distinctive path marked by citizenry, creativity, and a vibrant presence that extends beyond the stage. Alongside him, bassoonist Alexander Davis brings an artistic approach rooted in space-making, connection, and community-building within classical music—an intention that feels perfectly matched to Caramoor’s garden setting.

The experience is framed by a short, guided meditation led by Jennifer Llewellyn, inviting audiences to arrive fully—breath steady, mind open—before the first note even sounds. What follows is less a traditional concert and more a shared practice: music as attention, music as stillness, music as a way back to yourself.

In the Sunken Garden, with summer all around you, this is an hour that asks for nothing but your listening—and offers a rare kind of calm in return.
