Diabolic
Lightbulb Film Distribution has announced that Australian-produced supernatural horror Diabolic will be released across the UK and Ireland from Monday, 25 May. Arriving on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital, the film promises a chilling blend of psychological unease, occult dread, and full-throttle scares, the kind that linger long after the credits roll.
.
Directed by Daniel J. Phillips (Awoken), Diabolic is positioned as an atmospheric horror feature that leans into both tension and terror, pairing creeping dread with sharp, well-timed jump scares. The film stars Elizabeth Cullen (Evil Dead Wrath), John Kim (The Little Things), Mia Challis (Clickbait), and Terence Crawford (The Babadook), bringing together a cast with experience across thriller, drama, and genre storytelling.
.
At the heart of Diabolic is Elise, a young woman haunted by terrifying blackouts and the sense that her own mind is becoming unfamiliar territory. Seeking answers, she returns to the religious compound where she was raised, a place defined by control, silence, and the weight of belief.
.
But what begins as a search for clarity turns into an unravelling. As Elise digs into the dark secrets of her past, an ancient ritual is set in motion, unleashing the vengeful spirit of a cursed witch. The film builds its horror from the collision of trauma, faith, and the supernatural, where what’s buried refuses to stay buried.
.
Peter Thompson, Sales & Acquisitions Director at Lightbulb Film Distribution, shared his excitement about the release, saying, “We are thrilled to be bringing Diabolic to audiences in the UK & Ireland. Director Daniel J. Phillips has crafted a deeply atmospheric horror feature, and Elizabeth Cullen shines as Elise, a troubled young woman searching for answers after leaving a Mormon fundamentalist group. It’s a genuinely creepy ride, filled with dread and plenty of jump scares!”
.
Diabolic will be available in the UK & Ireland on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital from Monday, 25 May.
