London’s cultural landscape is constantly evolving, but every so often a space emerges that feels bigger than a venue—more like a living heartbeat for the city. Based in London, World Heart Beat is exactly that. A registered charity founded by Sahana Gero, MBE in 2009, it brings together a music academy, a concert hall, and recording studios under one mission: to bridge cultures and generations through music, celebrate global diversity, and uplift humanity through world-class artistry.
.
As a cultural destination at Embassy Gardens, World Heart Beat doesn’t just present performances—it creates pathways. The organisation is dedicated to transforming the lives of children and young people by offering genuine equality of opportunity. That means removing financial barriers, widening access to music education, and ensuring that underrepresented voices are not only included but amplified. It’s about confidence as much as it is about craft—helping young people build skills, self-belief, and a sense of belonging through the power of music.
And as the next generation is nurtured behind the scenes, the stage lights continue to shine brightly. From global stars to tomorrow’s trailblazers, World Heart Beat’s concert programme is rich with talent, energy, and unforgettable performances—proof that excellence and community can live in the same room.

This season, Jazz in the Gardens returns, bringing a fresh run of live dates to Embassy Gardens. Kicking off from today, Friday 1 May, the series opens with Trish Clowes’ Try Me Album Launch, setting the tone with a night that promises both celebration and serious musical firepower.
The programme continues with a major highlight on June 5th, as Embassy Gardens presents Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Jean Toussaint, formerly of Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers. Known for his blistering technique and lyrical sound, Toussaint has earned acclaim across the world and built a formidable catalogue, with 12 albums to his name. Originally from St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands, he left Berklee College of Music in Boston in 1982 to join Blakey—launching an inspired four-and-a-half-year chapter alongside musicians including Terence Blanchard and Mulgrew Miller, among others. It’s the kind of legacy that doesn’t just impress on paper—it resonates in every note.
.
Also scheduled is Tony Kofi (featured image) on Friday 19 June, widely regarded as one of the UK’s finest alto saxophonists. With a powerful sound, fearless improvisation, and a deep-rooted connection to jazz tradition, Kofi has built an extensive career performing with the likes of the World Saxophone Quartet, Courtney Pine, Abdullah Ibrahim, Branford Marsalis, and many of the UK’s leading ensembles. A Berklee graduate himself, he brings both mastery and momentum—an artist who honours the lineage while pushing the music forward.

World Heart Beat is a reminder of what happens when culture is built with purpose: the music reaches further, the doors open wider, and the impact lasts longer than the applause. If you want the full details of the Jazz in the Gardens line-up, visit the venue’s official website—and if you’re able, consider supporting World Heart Beat’s work so even more young people can access music education, find their voice, and step into their future with confidence.
