Cory Henry

Cory Henry doesn’t just perform — he builds a room, fills it with spirit, and invites you to stay a while. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, the Grammy-winning musician has long been recognised as a powerhouse player and a deeply expressive artist, first gaining global attention as a key member of the Grammy-winning collective Snarky Puppy before stepping fully into his own spotlight.

Since launching his solo career in 2018 with Art of Love, Henry has continued to stretch his sound across soul, gospel, funk and progressive R&B — always rooted in musicianship, always driven by feeling. His second album, Something to Say, earned a Grammy nomination in 2022 for Best Progressive R&B Album, marking a clear evolution in both his writing and his voice as a bandleader. He followed with Operation Funk in 2023, and Live at the Piano — nominated in 2024 — captured the raw electricity of his playing in its most intimate form.

In 2025, Henry’s journey came full circle in a powerful way when he won Best Roots Gospel Album for Church — a project as personal as it is uplifting. Featuring contributions from his own family, including his grandmother, the album feels like a living archive of the musical heritage that shaped him, delivered with the kind of honesty that resonates far beyond any genre label. PBS also aired a documentary exploring Henry’s life and the making of Church, offering a closer look at the story behind the sound.

Cory Henry performs at Blue Note London from 5–7 December. Visit the Blue Note London website for full details and ticket information.
