Theo Croker’s returned from seven years in Shanghai with a sound that didn’t fit neatly anywhere—and didn’t try to. That homecoming crystallised on Afro Physicist (2014), his Dee Dee Bridgewater-assisted statement piece, before Escape Velocity (2016) pushed the momentum further. By the time Star People Nation landed in 2019, Croker had fully stepped into his own orbit, earning a GRAMMY nomination for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album at the 62nd GRAMMY Awards and cementing his place as one of jazz’s most forward-thinking, genre-blurring voices.

Now, the GRAMMY-nominated trumpeter, composer, producer, and cultural tastemaker is extending that boundaryless vision beyond the stage—joining forces with acclaimed fashion designer Nicholas Daley for Sonic Tapestry, a one-of-a-kind live experience debuting in the U.S. during New York Fashion Week. Set inside the iconic Blue Note New York, the two-night event promises an immersive conversation between sound and style: Croker’s spiritually charged, future-facing music woven together with Daley’s richly textured design aesthetic, creating a live tapestry that’s as much atmosphere as it is performance.
