Back for its fifth year, the Black British Book Festival celebrates Black books, ideas, and culture, featuring Candice Carty-Williams, Corinne Bailey Rae, Wretch 32, and more.
Candice Carty-Williams will speak on love, mess, and the impact of Queenie. Corinne Bailey Rae will discuss sound, beauty, and creative freedom. Wretch 32 will explore writing and lyricism, making the case for bars as literature and breaking down the craft of the pen. The day closes with The Black Poetry Shutdown, featuring spoken-word artists including Malika Booker, Lady Sanity, Jah Digga, and more.
Across the wider programme, the festival brings together conversations and sessions spanning literature, music, science, money, love, identity, and the internet. There will also be events for younger readers, including storytelling and creative activities, alongside sessions aimed at aspiring authors.
The festival also introduces a new Black British Book Festival × Pan Macmillan collaboration, offering emerging writers a route toward publication.
