Linc is best known as Kurt Renner on Revenge. Additional TV credits include True Blood, NCIS, Castle, Southland, The Bridge and Justified.
Ghosted focuses on a cynical skeptic (Craig Robinson), and a genius “true believer” in the paranormal (Adam Scott), who are recruited by a secret government agency to look into the rampant “unexplained” activity in Los Angeles — all while uncovering a larger mystery that could threaten the existence of the human race. Linc plays Agent Kurt Checker, who is like the James Bond of the underground government agency that deals with paranormal cases. Ghosted is set to premiere on October 1, 2017.
Recently, Linc was seen opposite Daniel Radcliffe in the film Imperium and the indie feature Painted Horses. He has also had strong supporting roles in the Warner Bros feature 42 and starred alongside Adrian Grenier and Ben McKenzie in the 2014 feature, Goodbye World. Linc has six upcoming films including a lead role in the film Earth Angel‘.
Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Linc has been appearing in commercials, television programs, and feature films since he was six years old. After moving to Los Angeles, Linc began to explore his love of acting further by studying with legendary coach Howard Fine. A life-long athlete, Linc’s love of sports was nurtured by his father at a young age. Linc excelled at football, basketball, and martial arts, but it would be baseball that ultimately brought Linc’s passions together. Linc’s natural athleticism made him a perfect fit to play Fritz Ostermueller, one of Jackie Robinson’s primary antagonists in the 2013 hit feature, 42.
We had an opportunity to chat with Linc about his upcoming projects. Check out the interview below.
Thank you for granting the interview, Linc! Congrats on your latest role in Ghosted. Tell about Agent Kurt Checker.
It’s my pleasure. Thank you so much! Agent Checker is the James Bond of the secret government agency “the underground”. He deals with everything paranormal in a very cool way.
Did you do any research for your role?
I have been watching spy movies forever and have been scaring myself with every horror movie ever since I was a little kid. So I guess technically, I have been researching for a lifetime. 🙂
The paranormal shows airing on other networks use mystery and thrills to entertain. Ghosted is a comedy. This is an interesting twist. What can the audience expect?
They can expect to have fun and laugh out loud. It’s going to be a great escape and a fun change of pace.
Name your spookiest encounter.
I grew up next to a house that we just knew was haunted, so we would always dare each other to go to the basement and turn the lights off. Some of those trips were very scary. Spookiest moment on set was at one location was when I walked away to wash my hand in the restroom of this old warehouse. I was alone and it was a good walk away from where we were shooting. So when I was washing my hands the lights in the restroom started to flicker like an old horror movie, so I did not stick around. I may have jogged back to set. Hahaha.
If you star in a reimagining of a scary movie, what would it be?
It would have to be the original “IT”. That movie scared the crap out of me as a kid.
You’re best known as Kurt Renner on Revenge. How is he different from Agent Kurt Checker?
Renner was a guy who did what he had to do to survive. Agent Checker is a good guy and is very driven by his work. He is very cool under pressure and there is nothing Checker hasn’t seen.
2017 has been a busy year for you! You have six upcoming films, including a lead role in the film Earth Angel. Could you share some news about the film?
It has been a busy year and I’m so grateful for it. That’s always better than being slow. I’m very excited about “Earth Angel”. We start shooting that next week. I’m the lead of the film, so for me that is such a dream come true. It’s a very touching story about loss and having to overcome tragedy but at the end of the day, save the world. I mean that is everything a country boy dreams about playing. I can’t wait to get it started.
You have a background in sports and martial arts. Do you do your own stunts?
I have so much respect for the stunt professionals and what they do. My dad was a very well known street fighter, so when it comes to hand to hand and weapon work, I love to do it all. But there are many stunts you have to let the professionals handle. So I will do as much as they let me do. It’s always so much fun though to have someone pretending like you are really just beating the crap out of them. I’m a big kid at heart.
Is there anything you would like to add that we haven’t asked?
Thank you for asking me the questions. I hope everyone enjoys the upcoming projects. Have a great day!
