Cheryl Bullock may be at the beginning of her career, but she is ready to rise to the top. She’s up for any action film, even a film featuring MMA, and she has the skills! We had an opportunity to catch up with Cheryl to discuss her career, projects, and dream role!
You have a growing, diverse portfolio. Many people may be surprised you are also known as part of a chorus Aladdin and Cinderella pantomimes in Sutton in Ashfield. Tell us more.
In Aladdin I played the part of the dancing and singing chorus, and also a ghost in a portrait which I had to keep still in the frame, also following the other main actors with my eyes. Which was hard.
You have a background in multimedia and design, but you chose acting as your profession. Tell us more.
When I was younger and at college, I taught Art would get me somewhere, but I found out it NEVER helped me. I never was who I really wanted to be. So, I decided to take up acting, the only art I know more now than I ever did before. I feel like I have more different characters to play in acting, where I never had anything different in Art. And that is what I want to be…an actress.
You are very athletic, and can list Ballroom dancing, karate, kick boxing, and climbing as a skill. We definitely could see you in an action film. What are your thoughts?
I am up for ANY action movies either paid/unpaid. I am a very athletic person and I love to keep acting. Karate, climbing, kick-boxing, MMA I can do them ALL.
When you’re acting, tell us what experiences you draw on to play the role.
I draw onto the internet. I research on that one particular character that I am playing and try to interpret it in my own way.
Let’s talk Hello Au Revoir. It is currently in post-production, so we know you can’t say much. Can you talk about your role in the film?
I play my own role in Hello Au Revoir, as I auditioned for the role as myself. Jason Croot asked me to act out what I can and to put whatever acting I can into the video.
You also have another film that released. It’s called Wedding Getaway, which you directed and starred in. Tell us about the film.
Wedding Getaway is my own short movie that I came up with on my own. It is about a girl called Lisa (me) hoping to get married, but she finds out her best friend is getting married, instead, and Lisa was not invited. So, after an argument with her mum and her own family, she decides to run away.
What has been your favorite performance to date?
My best performance to date is my audition for Hello Au Revoir, I cannot wait until it is released via YouTube this year.
What types of roles do you hope to be cast in the future?
In the future I would like to be cast as the heroine (Sarah Connor, Terminator), supporting role, or the victim role.
Thus far, what has been the best experience working in the industry?
The best experience I have working in the acting industry is talking with the very famous actor/director Jason Croot. And for him to give me a chance to be in the ground-breaking, over 1000 cast from all around the world film, Hello Au Revoir.
What do you like to do between productions?
In my spare time, I like spend time with my family and friends. I like to Ballroom dance, Zumba, Fitsteps, and also…of course…shopping.
Do you have any upcoming projects that we haven’t mentioned?
I have written a script called Zombies Attack, which I am hoping to get up and running as a feature film soon. But it will be an online movie for the moment, which I am currently auditioning for actors/actresses from all over the world. I am looking for video auditions as zombies/Soldiers by April. The BEST 40 videos will be put in the final video for a YouTube feature movie by the end of this year.
