Leila was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and is the oldest of three children. She began with dance and performed in local plays and then from there, she modeled for multiple print ads. At age four, she performed in a Native American documentary for the Heinz History Center. She went on to do several commercials and local films. At age seven she began voice training with Molly Stater and scene study at the Donna Belajac acting studio. She plans to attend UCLA and eventually would like to incorporate producing as part of her endeavors. Leila also is passionate about supporting the Institute for the Achievement of Human Potential, Habitat for Humanity, Celiac Disease Foundation, and the ADHD Foundation.

We had the wonderful opportunity to speak with Leila about this awesome role! Check out the interview below.

Thank you for granting the interview, Leila! We’re huge fans of Netflix. Tell us about Seven and Me.

Seven and Me is a modern day Snow White who was the direct descendant of the Original Snow White aka Snow the First. And she has a pretty normal life until one day Seven giant Trunks are delivered to her house, carrying her long-lost dwarfs, and it makes her life a living fairytale.

Tell us about your role and character, Snow.

Snow is the kindest most understanding person ever and she always is able to fix everything and help others in need. I love her passion for baking and want to be with her friends, family, and the dwarfs through her adventures.

Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs is an iconic fairytale. You must be excited playing Snow.

Snow is the coolest character ever! It’s interesting how they took a traditional character from a storybook and brought her into the modern world. I love playing her especially because her personality is similar to mine. It’s awesome how I can just be myself on screen. Seriously it’s the best!!

Could you share some special scenes the audience should look for?

My favorite scenes I would have to say, are probably from the episodes Topsy TurvyThe Marvelous Exchange and Back to Childhood. Those are the ones I had the most fun. During these scenes, it was extremely difficult not to laugh while shooting. But I think the best scenes are in the episode The Marvelous Exchange because it was different from all the rest. In this episode, my mom and I switch bodies and instead of acting like ourselves, we were acting like each other. We spent days studying each other’s character and style of acting. I feel this was one of my best learning experiences.

What should the audience expect?

They should expect a lot of laughs, surprises and enjoy how a modern-day princess shows that when problems arise there is always a solution and her friends and family are there to help. This descendent of a fairy tale princess goes on adventures with the dwarfs, while also trying to keep their identities a secret to everyone around them.

What is it like starring in a world’s first hybrid sitcom, where state-of-the-art 3D animation and live-action is used?

It was really exciting to be part of a concept that has had little exploration. Originating a style of connecting with the viewers, where I combine my creativity and imagination that would also mesh with the director’s, was a challenge that gave me the best learning experience. I am so glad to be part of something that is new and unique and that will change the way sitcoms are presented to their audience.

What’s next in your career?

I just returned from Paris filming Season 2, so for the moment I am spending time with my family for the holidays. I am anxiously awaiting pilot season as well.

What do you like to do when you’re not performing?

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. Also, I spend a lot of time reading, dancing, horseback riding, ice-skating, and playing the violin.

Is there anything you would like to add that we haven’t asked?

Season 2 of Seven and Me has even more action, adventures and fun than ever before. There are many new guest stars and lots of plots and twists that made filming the second season even more fun than the first. I can’t wait for it to come on Netflix so everyone can see it.
