Miranda Edwards is amazing! She returned to Season 7 of The CW’s “Arrow” as The Longbow Hunter, Silencer! We had a chance to chat with her about her role. Check out the interview below.
Hi, Miranda! Thank you for granting the interview. Congrats on your role as Silencer in the seventh season of The CW’s “Arrow.” What should the audience expect to see this season?
Thank you! Well, expect tons of action! Initially, there is so much mystery around the Longbow Hunters and their ties to Diaz. Expect some surprises around all of that.
For those who may not know about The Longbow Hunter, Silencer, tell us about her. Who is she? What is her personality like?
Silencer is a highly skilled assassin who creates a zone of silence all around her. This allows her to approach unsuspecting victims stealthily and do her dirt without being detected. She does whatever the hell she wants and makes no apologies. She has a dry sense of humor and really takes pleasure in messing people up.
What is going to surprise people about Silencer this season?
I think a big surprise is how strong she actually is. It leaves people wondering just how much it takes to knock her out.
What was your favorite part of this season? Any favorite lines of dialogue or behind the scenes moments you can share?
My favorite line is “This is gonna be fun”. She is about to seriously hurt someone and that’s what comes out of her mouth? I read that line and thought, that just says it all right there. Don’t mess with her.
In your opinion, what scene in the series is going to blow people away and why?
I’d say that the scene where Silencer first goes up against Black Siren and Black Canary is the most compelling. It is the introduction to Silencer’s skills in action and really shows how strong she actually is. It’s also a silent fight scene, and it looks really good!
We can’t contain our excitement over the highly-anticipated Netflix series “Snowpiercer.” It is slated to premiere in 2019. You’re going to make an appearance. Tell us about your role and character.
Yes! I’m excited too! I got a sneak peek the other day and I think audiences are going to love it! My character’s name is Lights. It is a completely different role from anything else I’ve played. That’s about all I can say at this point.
In your opinion, how will the new series blow people away?
Well, when I watch a show, I want to be invested in the characters. This show does a great job of allowing you to see into the characters right away. Before you know it, you’re hooked.
What did you enjoy most about filming your character and role?
The cast and crew are pretty amazing. Going to work felt a lot like going “home” each day. But I must say, every episode I read just makes me fall deeper into this world and become more invested as an artist. That is an absolute pleasure!
Are there any additional projects you would like to share?
I have a short action film that I’m finishing up called Tough As Nails. I wrote, produced and starred in it. I can’t wait to get it out there. That will be in the new year!
