Written, directed, and starring Alex Knapp, the film follows Adam (Alex Knapp) as he survives as a sole survivor after a post-apocalyptic collapse. The film transitions between Adam’s present reality and memories from his past. While seemingly organized, through his daily routines, he struggles to stay grounded having processed the magnitude of his predicament. Ultimately, to his knowledge, he is alone. Reflections of his emotional turmoil and unhinged mental state play out through conversations had with himself, substituting visualizations of those loved and lost as the listener/speaker. Adam’s loved ones being girlfriend K (Olivia Luccardi) and best friend Kyle (Nore Davis).
With scenic landscapes, scenes of quiet, and a soundtrack fit for the setting, it is a post-apocalyptic film that focuses on emotional and mental struggle. Go, Don’t Go refers to the no-go areas Adam explores but can also apply to his frame of mind as Adam can’t move forward while consumed by his past.
You don’t actually know specifically what caused the apocalypse, the emphasis is on a man, Adam (appropriately named as possibly the only man to have survived) trying his hardest to make sense of what is left and his realization that to move forward he must accept his reality and let go of the past for his psyche and emotional stability.
Speaking about the movie Alex Knapp states “We’re incredibly excited to be partnering with Kamikaze Dogfight and Gravitas Ventures for the release of Go/Don’t Go. The broad far-reaching infrastructure of Gravitas, paired with the hands-on approach of Kamikaze made this the perfect home for our film – and their partnership is something really inspiring to be on the ground floor of. We’re hopeful audiences will connect with the emotional and tonal relevance to our current quarantined lifestyle, and the isolation and melancholy longing for a previous existence. Ultimately our film is a love story, be-it wrapped up in the uncertainty of a world-changing event for our main character. My producing partner Max Gardner and I couldn’t have possibly dreamed to execute a project like this without our incredible cast, crew, and producing team, and we’re thrilled to be able to share it with audiences,”
Kamikaze Dogfight and Gravitas Ventures, a Red Arrow Studios company, acquired the North American rights to distribute the thriller, The film is available via iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Xbox, Vudu, Direct TV, Dish Network, and all major cable providers. Go Don’t, Go is a contemplative indie to watch.
