Odd Man Out- Occhi Mgazine Feature

Breaking Glass Pictures is preparing to bring audiences a story that doesn’t flinch. Odd Man Out, a powerful two-part drama event from filmmaker Ronnel Ricardo Parham, is set for release on streaming platforms soon — and it arrives with a clear purpose: to explore love, loss, identity, and the emotional cost of trying to do the right thing inside a system that often feels beyond repair.

Split into Odd Man Out: Part 1 and Odd Man Out: Part 2, the project continues Breaking Glass Pictures’ commitment to socially resonant storytelling — the kind that sits with you, not because it’s comfortable, but because it’s honest.

At the centre of the story is Charles Winters (played by Parham), a man whose life in Los Angeles begins to collapse under the weight of heartbreak, career loss, and the slow erosion of the relationships that once held him steady. Searching for a reset, Charles relocates to Atlanta and takes on work as a behaviour therapist supporting troubled foster youth — a role that places him in close proximity to other people’s trauma, even as he’s still trying to outrun his own.

Odd Man Out: Part 1 follows Charles as he attempts to rebuild through service, helping young people navigate instability, grief, and survival. But the work is not a clean escape. As his clients’ struggles mirror the fractures in his own life, Charles is pushed into therapy and forced to confront unresolved truths he’s kept buried. With tensions rising at home and emotional wounds resurfacing, the series builds toward a reckoning — one that threatens to change not just Charles’s future, but the lives of those he’s trying to protect.

In Odd Man Out: Part 2, the stakes intensify, and the consequences become unavoidable. The foster kids Charles mentors begin to spiral toward danger: Terry’s gang ties deepen, Jeremiah’s past resurfaces with force, and Shawn fights to escape a life he’s desperate to leave behind. As guilt, heartbreak, and the real reasons behind Charles’s move from Los Angeles come into sharper focus, a single tragic mistake shatters everything — leaving Charles to face the fallout of impossible choices and ask the hardest question of all: how do you rebuild when you can’t undo what’s been done?

Starring Ronnel Ricardo Parham alongside Bryson Robinson, Rose Bianco, Jonathan Page, Astrid Castillo, Kira Reed, Martinez, Elliott J. Holmes, Melody Peng, and Princess Elmore, Odd Man Out blends intimate character study with urgent social commentary. Parham is clear about the intention behind the work. “Odd Man Out touches on topics that some shows and films won’t,” he said. “We’re unapologetic about pushing the line and showing issues like colorism, domestic violence, interracial relationships, and foster care. These are stories rooted in real experiences, and we wanted to give those voices a place on screen.”

Parham also points to a personal connection that helped shape the partnership with Breaking Glass Pictures. “I chose to work with Breaking Glass Pictures because I’m from Philadelphia as well,” he shared. “There’s a strong sense of pride in building something meaningful in this industry alongside a distributor from my hometown.”

For Breaking Glass Pictures, the project aligns with exactly what the distributor aims to champion. CEO Rich Wolff describes Odd Man Out as “fearless” and “emotionally honest,” adding that Parham brings “authenticity, compassion, and urgency” to the characters and themes — crafting a two-part experience designed to linger long after the credits roll.

Odd Man Out: Part 1 and Odd Man Out: Part 2 will be available worldwide on streaming platforms soon, offering viewers a raw, reflective look at what it means to carry pain, to try again, and to keep showing up — even when the system doesn’t make it easy.
