Virtuoso drummer Cindy Blackman Santana is a major figure in jazz and rock, touring and recording with artists such as Pharoah Sanders, Cassandra Wilson, Bill Laswell, Joss Stone, Joe Henderson, Buckethead, Don Pullen, Hugh Masakela, and Angela Bofill, to name few.
Known as an innovator with an appetite for pushing creative boundaries, Cindy Blackman Santana’s critically acclaimed 2010 project, ‘Another Lifetime’ was the perfect vehicle for her to be acknowledged as one of the finest drummers and recording artists of a generation. She’s about the go on a Spring tour, accompanied by some of the finest musicians including Emilio Modeste (saxophones), Felix Pastorious (bass), Zaccai Curtis (keys) David Gilmore (guitar), and Ravi Coltrane, who will be performing at the San Francisco Jazz Festival, and Saratoga Jazz Festival this June.
