Catching Up with Musician Raymond McMorrin

It’s been about a year since my man Raymond McMorrin did a written interview with our very own Jonathan Blackman.  I haven’t had a chance to really catch up with him in forever.  As many of you might remember, Raymond McMorrin is originally from Connecticut but now calls Japan his home.  Now living there for over sixteen years, he is very much at home in Tokyo, and I don’t blame him. I want to go back to Tokyo myself!  We talked for an hour or so, with us both tired on opposite ends of the spectrum; myself trying to wake up and Raymond having to stay up late at night, but we made it work. It was an absolute pleasure catching up with my brother.  We talked about Ray’s past and why he moved to Japan, what he’s doing now, the Japanese music scene, cultural differences, and a myriad of topics.  I just wish I was over there to do this interview in person!  Nonetheless, it is a fun-filled interview, which I certainly enjoyed doing and I hope you all will enjoy checking it out!
