Chaz Ebert is a force in the world of media, storytelling, and social impact. As the CEO of Ebert Digital LLC and publisher of the acclaimed RogerEbert.com, she has continued the legacy of her late husband, Pulitzer Prize-winning film critic Roger Ebert, while forging her own path as an author, legal adviser, and producer at Ebert Productions. For over two decades, Chaz and Roger shared a partnership rooted in a commitment to truth, empathy, and the transformative power of art—a spirit that Chaz continues to channel in all her work.
.
Now, Chaz Ebert invites readers on a journey of awakening with her new book, It’s Time to Give a FECK: Elevating Humanity Through Forgiveness, Empathy, Compassion, and Kindness. Drawing from personal experience, extensive research, and both historical and contemporary narratives, Ebert explores how these four foundational values—Forgiveness, Empathy, Compassion, and Kindness—can help individuals and communities navigate adversity and bridge divides in a fractured world.
.
In her words, “I believe that in the name of forgiveness, empathy, compassion, and kindness, the four FECK Principles can elevate our humanity, unite strangers in the name of love, and help us find hope in even the most horrifying circumstances.” The book is more than a call to action—it’s a roadmap for healing and connection, brought to life by Chaz’s passion and unwavering optimism.
To celebrate the release, Chaz Ebert is joining forces with Black Artists’ Networks in Dialogue (BAND) Gallery for a special book celebration this September 9th at 5pm. The event, taking place within the BAND exhibition Launch & Grow, is part of a fundraising initiative to support the gallery’s capital campaign for its new home at 19 Brock Ave, a vital hub for Black art in Toronto.
