Cher Antoinette Corbin -Faceted-The Complexity of a woman

The Caribbean Fine Art Fair (CaFA Fair) returns to Barbados for its 15th edition. The unforgettable celebration of Caribbean creativity continues online with the showcasing of some of the region’s most gifted artists, including the Occhi Magazine-featured Cher Antoinette Corbin.

Cher Antoinette Corbin, a Barbadian forensic scientist, visual artist, and writer, is a dynamic and multi-talented creative force. Her versatility has earned her multiple accolades at NIFCA, excelling in Photography (2009), Literary Arts (2011–2014), and Fine Arts (2012–2013). She is also a published author, with works including the poetic anthology My Soul Cries (2013), the novel VIRTUALIS: A New Age Love Story (2014), and Architects of Destiny: Poetry & Prose (2015).

Cher’s artistic journey took flight in 2014 when she embraced a self-taught approach to exploring her creative voice. Her experimentation with various media has resulted in stunning works in Watercolor, Pen and ink, Charcoal, Acrylic, and mixed media. Recently, she has ventured into Modern Pointillism and Hard-Edge Abstract Art, further expanding her artistic repertoire.

In addition to her fine art, Cher has gained significant recognition for her innovative jewelry line, C-Toi Wearable Art. This collection transforms her Acrylic Fluid Art into unique, one-of-a-kind pieces, incorporating healing crystals like amethyst, hematite, and black onyx, making art both accessible and meaningful.

Cher has showcased her work through two solo exhibitions: Just Call Me Sarah at the University of the West Indies (2017) and The Colours of My Life at the OAS Marcus Garvey Gallery and the Barbados Embassy in Washington, D.C. (2018). She is an active member of Artist Alliance Barbados, participating in national exhibitions, including the celebration of Barbados’ 50th year of Independence, and is involved with Artist Studio Tours Barbados, which promotes local artists through studio visits, online galleries, and auctions.
