We must say that we enjoy your character on The Inspectors. Playing a character with physical limitations is challenging. Besides, Greg Gadson, who plays Preston’s personal trainer and is a double amputee, have you received support or advice from fans with similar limitations?

When I first booked the role, I worked with Greg Gadson and  a few other consultants, to make sure my movements were as accurate. My goal for this character was to be as believable as possible as a paraplegic, and the response has seemed to be very positive. I get messages on social media from people saying how great it is to see a character they can identify with, so I feel like I have a responsibility to portray Preston accurately for them.

Has playing Preston broaden your view on physical disabilities?

You always learn something from your characters. Playing Preston has made me a more compassionate and open-minded person. It’s really opened my eyes to a community full of extremely tough and resilient people.

You guest starred in some of television’s highly-rated shows, such as “Jane the Virgin,” “How to Get Away with Murder,” and “Bones.” What has been the take away from each experience? What have you learned and applied to your career?

I feel like getting the opportunity to be on successful shows, like those is a major confidence boost. It is very important in this industry. One thing they all have in common is a fantastic cast. There’s always so much to learn from veteran actors who have been nominated and won the most prestigious awards in our industry. I’d say the most impactful experience was working on Jane the Virgin and watching Gina Rodriguez single-handedly lead that entire cast and crew with her positive attitude and enthusiasm. It was very inspiring.

You also have writer, director, and producing credits. Could you share information on “Dreamers and a Deadbeat” and “Coming Home?”

Well, when you first get to LA, acting jobs are a little tough to come by. So, my friends and I would write, produce, and typically act in our own projects. I think it’s an amazing way to learn the art of acting from every angle. I want to be very involved in the entire process. So, producing and directing are very appealing to me.

We love the parody Rap videos. They are too funny. What inspired you to make them?

I’ve always loved Hip Hop music. It started in college when I was taking an audio recording class. I love writing my own music; and I’ve always liked to make people laugh. I figured it was the perfect hobby. I didn’t realize back then that I’d still be doing it today.

If you could star in a Broadway play, what would it be and why?

Hamilton. See above 🙂 It would be so incredible to be involved in something, like Hamilton, that is taking the world by storm. And the music is amazing.

If there was a story you could visually share with the world, what would it be and why?

My favorite stories are underdog stories. I’m always in awe of artists, athletes, and other people, who grow up with a severe disadvantage and overcome the odds. It’s the power of the human will that intrigues me. Anything like that would be amazing to be a part of.

What’s next on your list?

I just shot a movie last month with Frankie Muniz, so we’re really excited to see that. I’m heading to Europe this Holiday season, for the first time – that’s really exciting. 2017 should be a great year!
