After six months in production, Nicole ranked five stars on Etsy. Additionally, she received Wedding Wire’s coveted “2015 Couples’ Choice Award.” Known for her excellence design and craftsmanship, Nicole builds brand loyalty by providing customers with unforgettable wedding stationery for the special day.
OM: Why did you decide to become a graphic designer?
I’ve always enjoyed creating designs on my computer, but I did it for fun. I never thought my hobby would become my profession. When I became engaged on January 1, 2014, I decided to create my own wedding stationery. It turned out so well that during my engagement I decided to launch a wedding stationery business.
OM: Wow! That is wonderful. You were inspired by your own wedding. You have a great perspective on what brides need. Please share your approach to design. How would you describe your process?
Honestly, I must be in an energetic, playful and stress-free mood to create. If I’m not in a peaceful state, my design will turn out disastrous. I like to start designing in the morning. I’m usually enjoying my coffee or a cup of tea. I close my eyes to the blank canvas, and then I visualize my design.
OM: We agree. It’s better to set the mood before you create anything. Who or what has been the biggest inspiration?
My husband is my biggest inspiration. He has supported me every step of the way. He pushed me through my weakest moments. The support of my husband and my faith in God are the two things that keep me going.
OM: It’s awesome to have a supportive partner. What would you say is your strongest design skill?
I always think outside of the box.
OM: Do you have a favorite design or invitation style?
I don’t have a favorite invitation or design. I love them all! Choosing a favorite design would be like asking a parent, which child do they love the most?
OM: Do you think online design resources have influenced how graphic design is produced today?
Yes! I believe that Pinterest allows engaged couples to not only show the world their wedding ideas, but also look at other ideas from other engaged couples, as well.
OM: Why choose you? What sets you apart from other designers who create wedding invitations?
I believe that there are so many talented designers out there. We have our own unique creativity. What sets me apart is my customer service. I treat every single one of my clients, like they’re a part of my family. I go above and beyond, to make sure that my clients are 100% satisfied.
OM: It’s evident that you’re very passionate about your work. Is it because your influenced by your own wedding experience?
During my engagement, I was extremely confused. When I had questions I had to Google them. I wished there was some I could have consult with, who have started a similar business . With that said, it’s important to build a relationship with my clients. They know i will provide them with the best advice, guidance, and recommendation. I’m thankful to have had my own wedding experience. It definitely instilled a passion to help others create their dream.
OM: Your passion is evident. What has been your greatest and achievement?
I’ve recently won a couple awards from Wedding Wire, but my greatest achievement is knowing that my clients are in love with their final product.
OM: What’s the best advice you have received?
When I need advice or a pick me up, I love listening to motivational speakers that motivate people with the word of God. The best advice I can ever receive is located in my Bible. 🙂
OM: If you can start your career over again, what would you change and why?
If I could start my career over again, I wouldn’t change a thing. Every mountain I climbed and bumps in the road has made me stronger. I love what I do. I love knowing that I am helping people by doing what I enjoy.
OM: Your photos on your Instagram beautifully represents your work. Do you use a professional photographer?
Thank you. I don’t use a professional photographer. I have a camera that I use for my photos on Instagram.
OM: You do such an awesome job in staging your photography. Are there any projects in the work that you can share with us?
I just completed my 2016 Wedding Stationery Collection. For the next month, I am going to take a small break and start working on my 2016 Spring Collection.
OM: Do you have any words that you live by?
“For we walk by faith not by sight” and “Trust in the Lord with all your heart.”
