This film is the first production falling under Andrew van den Houten and film director Wes Miller’s newly formed Blacklight Entertainment banner. Blacklight’s mission is to provide quality opportunities for people of color and other traditionally disadvantaged people in front of and behind the camera.
Having a strong female lead, particularly a black protagonist, in the action genre is welcomed. Moreover, Jaeda King’s internal struggles as a successful Judge, partner, and mother provide depth and dimensions to her character. The cast overall provides strong performances under Wes Miller’s direction. Despite a weak plot, the movie moves at an entertaining pace. The action scenes and fight choreography, whilst slow and visibly staged, sustain the level of entertainment needed for this particular kind of genre to work. In conclusion, it’s a watchable movie for die-hard fans of the action and shoot-them-up persuasion. It will be exciting to see future releases from this production team.
Movie Rating: 3 stars.
