Hi, Finn! Thank you for granting the interview.Congrats on your role as Jack in the hit Netflix series “Alexa & Katie.”
Hi, Thank you! I’m so happy to be here!
You play Jack, Katie’s little brother. Tell us about Jack. Who is he? What is his personality like?
Jack is a lot like me. He is always ready for an adventure and has lots of energy. And occasionally gets into a bit of trouble with Alexa and Katie.
How does the character of Jack support Katie in the series?
Jack is a typical little brother. He loves his sister and helps her out when she needs him to “not tell mom” but there’s usually a price to pay.
Is it a challenge to play a character whose sister’s best friend is diagnosed with cancer?
For the most part, Jack is just himself around Alexa and I think that’s how Alexa wants everyone to be. She doesn’t like it when people treat her differently because of her illness. There is a scene in Season One between Alexa and Jack that addresses some questions he had about cancer. Alexa is honest and welcomes his curiosity. I loved doing that scene.

I recently came across a camp called Camp Kesem that Syracuse University has launched for children whose parent(s) is diagnosed with cancer. You can learn more here. Many have overlooked how a cancer diagnosis can affect children. What are your thoughts on this?
That sounds like a wonderful camp. I hope it helps families going through a difficult time and gives children a place to express their feelings and concerns.

How did you get the role of Jack?
I auditioned for the role on tape first. Then I went in person. I got a callback not too long after and then had a producer meeting. The last step was the network screen test. It was so much fun and that’s where I met Paris, Isabel, and Emery for the first time! I got the call from my agent and manager that I booked the role pretty soon after… it was the Best Day Ever!
The subject matter of the series is heartfelt. How does the second season’s production bring something new to the story?
There are some awesome new storylines and lots of twists and turns! You might find yourself needing a tissue one minute and then cracking up the next… the writers are amazing!
What is going to surprise people about Jack?
Oh, Jack has plenty up his sleeve. You are going to love watching Jack and Jennifer get into some mischief together!
Without giving anything away, what’s your favorite line of dialogue and why?
Oh there are so many… maybe when Jack says “and a little pee in my pants”
When looking back on the production, what resonated with you the most and why?
Working on Alexa & Katie is like a dream. The cast and crew are literally the kindest, most generous group of people. I NEVER want it to end. It is my favorite place to be and I just love every second I get to be there!
In your opinion, what scene in the series is going to blow people away and why?
The dressing room scene. Paris is amazing! You’ll need those tissues I talked about earlier!
What do you enjoy most about your character and role?
Every week is like Christmas morning when we get the new script and see what Jack is going to do next! I love that he is so carefree and fun.
Do you have anything else you would like to share about the series?
Go watch it right now on Netflix! It is a great series to “binge.” It is smart, hilarious, and the whole family can watch!
You also have a recurring role on Netflix’s FULLER HOUSE. You play Lewis Gladstone. That’s awesome! That’s two Netflix series. Tell us about Lewis.
Yes, it’s so awesome! Lewis Gladstone is one of Uncle Joey’s kids. The “Gladstone Four” are very naughty and torture Jackson, Ramona, and Max! A very, very different character from Jack and myself.
