We had the wonderful opportunity to speak with Hannah Swain about her career and upcoming projects. Check out the interview below.

Hi, Hannah! Thank you for granting the interview. Your career is emerging and we’re excited to speak with you about. What do you enjoy most about acting?

I enjoy the new characters that I get to audition for and the amazingly talented people I’ve met along the way.

What inspired you to become an actress?

What inspired me to become an actress isn’t necessarily the same as everyone else’s inspirations. Mine was from my Make-A-Wish. I had Leukemia when I was 4 and 1/2 and I was given a Make-A-Wish. When I was healthy I got my wish. I was seven years old. For my Make-A-Wish I chose to go to California and to meet Miranda Cosgrove from iCarly, I was obsessed with iCarly. When I flew to California and went onto the set of iCarly. It instantly felt like home to me. That’s what inspired me to want to try acting. I told my parents that I wanted to be an actress like her and now I am!

Let’s talk about the importance of branding yourself. What advice can you share with aspiring talent?

Acting can be extremely tough and it takes a lot of dedication. Being an actor requires a lot of memorization, patience, and timing. Once you have that down its just a waiting game. You’re waiting to get one yes instead of no’s.

What has been your biggest challenge in the industry?

There are extremely hard challenges for me in the industry. One of them is those once in blue moon roles you get so attached to and make it so far just to be told no. Those take a little bit for me to recover.

What’s the ultimate direction of your career?

The ultimate direction of my career hopefully consists of booking a series regular on a tv show and another series regular doing voice over on an animated show.

Tell us about an upcoming project that you’re really excited about.

I have a new trilogy movie project but I cannot say anything else about it. It is still in the early stages but I am extremely excited about it, though!!

Do you have a charitable organization you enjoy working with?

Yes, I do! I love working with Spreading the Love Foundation, American Cancer Society, and Pediatric Cancer Foundation.

When looking ahead on your career, what do you hope to achieve and why?

I hope to achieve a lot more success! Getting more knowledge of this industry as a whole, networking with industry people as I become an adult, and booking more roles of course.

Who have been your biggest influences?

My biggest influences have been Jennifer Aniston and Tara Strong.

If you had to do it all over again, would you still choose this career? Would you do anything differently?

I wouldn’t choose a different career or do anything differently. It’s a journey with ups and lots of downs. The downs are what make you stronger. I love acting and everything that comes with it.

Do you have anything else you would like to share about your career?

I would LOVE to book my first big film before I turn 18 years old. I put in the work with classes and coaching so fingers crossed!
