Adelynn Spoon began her acting career at the age of 5 when others quickly realized that she was a natural. Adelynn plays ‘Emma Abar’ in HBO’s Watchmen. She can also be seen in the upcoming drama Tell Me Your Secrets on TNT, as well as several commercials. We had the pleasure of speaking to her about her roles, interests, and plans.
Hi, Adelynn! Thank you for granting the interview. Congratulations on your role in the TV series ‘Watchmen’. Firstly, how did you land the part?
Thank you! Watchmen was actually my very first audition. I auditioned and received a call back with casting directors and producers. Then my agent called my mom and said, “She did it! She deserves a huge ice cream cone!” I started jumping up and down! And I got a gigantic ice cream cone… cookies and cream, my favorite. It was as big as my head! I shared it with my brother and sister.
You play Regina King’s daughter ‘Emma Abar’. Please share with us your experience working with her and the rest of an amazing cast and crew?
Regina is just amazing! She’s pretty much like my real mom. She also plays a superhero in the show, but I kind of think she’s one in real life too. The entire cast and crew were SO much fun. We had the best time every day on set. We practiced our lines together, played lots of games, and even had dance parties!
The show has received great reviews. What should fans expect from your character and the future?
Well, I can’t share too much, but tune in to see! Something really neat happens to Emma soon. It’s something that I wish I could do in real life.
You will be appearing in the upcoming drama ‘Tell Me Your Secrets’ on TNT. Please tell us more about this drama and your role?
My character is a really fun little girl, and likes to do some of the same things I do! And guess what? Freya looks just like me …with a surprising twist!
You and your siblings founded “Serving Spoons”, a foundation in which helps those in need? Please tell us more about this initiative and how we can all help.
We did! Our parents have always encouraged us to help others in need. We hold sandwich drives and invite the community to join in. So far, we’ve made nearly 3,000 sandwiches for the homeless. We’ve collected hundreds of blankets and school supplies (including over 1,000 pencils!) for children in need. We save our allowances and buy Christmas presents for kids at a local orphanage. We even opened a lemonade stand, and in just one day, we earned over $500 that was donated! We earned gold presidential service awards for our community service hours. We’re very passionate about it, and want to tell kids that no act of kindness is too small- you CAN make a difference!
You’re very busy at present. Do you have anything else in the pipeline we can look forward to?
Be sure to watch me on TNT’s ‘Tell Me Your Secrets,’ and you can catch me on a national commercial coming out soon! I have a few new adventures, but nothing I can talk about quite yet 😉
