Damian Dalla Torre was born in Italy and studied jazz at the Vienna Conservatory before moving to Leipzig, where he is currently based. While initially focusing on traditional jazz, Damian’s musical style evolved to incorporate electronic, techno, and ambient influences. This fusion of genres, combined with intricate electronic production, caught the attention of Munich-based Squama Recordings, who released his debut album “Happy Floating” in 2022.
Damian Dalla Torre recently announced his new album I Can Feel My Dreams, releasing 12 July via tastemaker label Squama Recordings. This is on the back of his latest single ‘Acryl’, which you can listen to here.
The album was produced between Europe and South America, Germany and Chile. A collection of jazz-adjacent, experimental ambient tracks blending flute, sax, piano, harp, guitars, and more with synthesizers, electronic processing, and field recordings.
“I Can Feel My Dreams” begins in Santiago, the capital of Chile, where Dalla Torre moved for a residency to teach, write, and practice his music. With the excitement of being in a completely new place, he became entranced by the colorful views of Chile and immersed himself in the city’s vibrant arts scene. With a constant source of inspiration, Dalla Torre has collaborated with a remarkable group of artists from the experimental world, including Miriam Adefris, Ruth Goller, Christian Balvig, and Viola Blache.
