Brooklyn-based rock band Earthquake Lights has just released their new album, Signs of Life. The album delves into the theme of self-reflection, exploring self-fulfilling prophecies and coming to terms with past mistakes while pondering on where one has been and where one is headed.

With nine tracks, Signs of Life is an introspective record. It is harmonically dense, featuring deeply experimental tracks as well as more accessible and immediate ones, such as “Pictures,” which tells the story of someone who romanticizes a past relationship through pictures, commenting on the role of social media in our lives. The album also includes “Silhouette,” a track that narrates an extraterrestrial search for life and raises the question, “What’s the connection between music and space?” Another standout track is “Heartbeat,” which serves as a reminder to cherish loved ones in the face of challenges.

Signs of Life celebrates craftsmanship and analog/acoustic instruments and players to create unique sounds in today’s content-saturated industry. The band emphasizes the importance of traditional music with a collaborative effort from over 100 people contributing to the making of the album.

Earthquake Lights have achieved millions of streams to date and their previous album, Desert Bloom, charted almost 30 times on the iTunes and Apple Music charts. They also secured a feature on Vulfpeck’s The Joy of Music, the Job of Real Estate. The band has received acclaim from various leading music publications.
