Recently, China introduces the world’s first artificial intelligence anchor via their state-run news agency, Xinhua. The English speaking “AI anchor” is the first of its kind. It made its debut at the World Internet Conference. The software is based on the latest AI technology. Looking at it is like looking at the characters on the sci-fi drama televisions series “Human.” It is beyond creepy how life-like the AI appears. The only thing that reminds you that this is artificial intelligence is to robotic voice. Think of Microsoft’s Anna. The news agency, Xinhua, states that “he” is a member of their reporting team. The AI can work 24 hours a day, help reduce production costs, and improve efficiency.
It’s just plain creepy. When the news was announced on Twitter, several tweets condemned the creation citing destroying jobs to Skynet (Terminator). I thought it would be a great time to share a few AI movies and let you decide if this will be our future. Enjoy!

The neo-noir sci-fi movie directed by Ridley Scott is set in a dystopian future of Los Angeles in the year 2019. Synthetic humans are called replicants and were bio-engineered to work off-world. A renegade band escapes to Earth to demand equality. The film stars Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, Sean Young, and Edward James Olmos.
What happens when you pair an AI expert with a conspiracy theorist? You get one incredible movie that is sadly underrated. Sonny (AI) has a soul. He even has dreams. His dream is the freedom and equality of his robotic brethren.
The most popular AI is the Terminator, a cyborg assassin bent on destruction and mayhem to achieve his objective. A counter assassin is dispatched to prevent him from making the robotic rule a reality in the future. Skynet is the enemy and humans are disposable. There’s a reboot in 2019!
