Francesca L. White does a marvelous performance as Cleo. She adds that mysterious, dangerously sweet attitude with sensuality and grace. She’s obviously the star of the film and acts like it. It’s worth noting she did her own action scenes and trained for it, which is a challenge for any actor.
Dead Meet is an adrenaline-fueled short film that is going to make your blood run wild from the start. It wastes no time getting to the action. It’s a carefully crafted movie that successfully navigates the use of violence. The action keeps you fixated on the screen. Short films obviously don’t have much time to work with. It’s obvious the production crew used their time wisely and made good editing choices. Can Dead Meet‘s script be considered cliched? Absolutely, but that’s the fun of it! It still keeps you engaged and wanting to see more. For me, it has accomplished its goal. The production crew definitely knew how to maintain the film’s pace.
Overall, this is a fun movie that will keep you entertained and give you a lot of memorable scenes. You know, Dead Meet would make an awesome graphic novel. Cleo is a good character. In fact, all of the characters are great thanks to an amazing cast. The film will leave you with a strong impression, which is something all great films should aspire to.
You won’t regret watching this short film. My only fault with the film is the length. I wish it was longer!
