South-east London born and bred, Flo releases “Chasing After You”, an emotionally charged single written after a breakup about a boy Flo was utterly entranced by. This single is raw and heartfelt with lyrics that are relatable and as honest as they come. The young artist believes in being as authentic as possible and vulnerably relayed that through this tune. Flo explains, “The words in it are just exactly how I felt and I’m so glad we wrote it when we did because there’s so much emotion in it.”

The track is laced with visual, compelling lyrics. The production on this track is a combination of elements from her previous singles “21” and “Can’t Be Friends,” giving us a luscious lead into this single. With pulsing bass lines, exotic trumpet pumps, and rhythmic acoustic guitars, the song has pockets of interesting production moments. From subtle electric grit to glassy shakers which bathe the song in a complex and affecting soundscape, the track oozes with sass. “Times change but people never do, I don’t want to spend my life chasing after you,” Flo sings about the reality of love and life.

All of Flo’s music is food for the heart and words for the wise. This is a writer of depth, already a collaborator with established giants Tom Fuller and Will Thomson but, rather than stand on their shoulders, she has hands on the wheel.  Being a young woman in your 20s isn’t always easy today, but Flo only sees ‘good and great’ in her life and her work, and you will too. So, if you’re looking for Bad then head for Neverland, but if you want songs to fly, cry and die for then don’t just run with the herd- go with the Flo.
