The Row (Film) -Occhi Magazine provides a platform for emerging and established artists through inspiring editorial content, pop-up exhibitions, and exclusive advertising opportunities.

This year’s FrightFest is set to welcome a gripping new addition to its celebrated lineup with the international premiere of “The Rows” on August 25th. Marking the feature debut of director and writer Seth Daly, “The Rows” promises to keep audiences on the edge of their seats with its suspense-driven horror and atmospheric storytelling.

Shot on evocative 35mm film and crafted on a micro-budget in Ohio, “The Rows” stars Brindisi Dupree (Dr. Quarantine), Lara Pictet (Secret Identity, By Light of Desert Night), Marcus Woods (Empire, Fatal Attraction, Finding Nicole), Hans Heilmann (The Lord of All Future Space & Time, Well Past Midnight), Mary Montoya, Rynn Reigns, Douglas Fries, and Seth Daly himself. The film draws inspiration from genre classics such as “No Country for Old Men,” “The Strangers,” and “The Town That Dreaded Sundown,” delivering a minimalist, dialogue-light experience that heightens the tension at every turn.

The story follows seven-year-old Lucy, who awakens alone in a sprawling, enigmatic cornfield with a bloody head wound and no memory of how she arrived. Her desperate search for answers quickly turns into a deadly game of survival when she discovers a body, an abandoned gun, and three masked killers on her trail. As night falls and the danger escalates, Lucy must navigate the labyrinthine rows, aided only by her loyal family dog and a mysterious golden creature lurking within the corn.

Reflecting on the film’s selection, director Seth Daly shared, “The Rows was made for FrightFest and the cinematic aesthetic it celebrates. From the celluloid photography to the killer soundtrack, everything was crafted with the theatrical experience in mind. The audience will have a blast.”

FrightFest, often described as “the Woodstock of Gore” by acclaimed director Guillermo Del Toro, has been a launchpad for bold new voices in horror since its inception in 2000. Renowned for its commitment to discovering original genre films and championing emerging talent, the festival has helped propel the careers of filmmakers such as Eli Roth, Neil Marshall, and Christopher Smith.

With its international premiere at FrightFest, “The Rows” stands poised to leave a lasting impression on genre enthusiasts and festival-goers alike. Don’t miss this chilling new thriller when it takes center stage on August 25th.
