Ruby has literally had one ‘Hell of a Year,’ and to celebrate has released a surprise cover song for old and new fans alike. The reflective lyrics and pensive tune were originally recorded and written by Parker McCollum. “I love this song and I wanted to do this track as a little extra bonus ‘thank you’ to all the folks who I’ve met out on the road this year,” stated Ruby. The cover of “Hell of a Year” by Bryan Ruby is available now on all digital music taplink.cc/hellofayear_br.
“It has been a “Hell of a Year!” It seems all the best things came out of “Left Field” with my debut single being picked up by SiriusXM Country Pride along with ACM’s Ultimate Pride Playlist. We traveled 52,000 miles this summer singing the National Anthem and promoting “Two For The Road”. I wrote a song called “The Standouts” for my hero ‘Pops’ and got to come home for the holidays to get some downtime before “Christmas With You” was released and was added to the ‘Christmas Playlist: Top 100‘ and received over 86,000 organic streams on Spotify. I cannot wait to show the world what we have planned for 2023, as this is only the beginning,” shared Bryan Ruby.
Ruby’s cover of the popular 2017 tune was produced and mixed by Adam Sickler who also played acoustic guitar, dobro, banjo, and bass on the track. The song was recorded in Nashville, TN, and was mastered by Adam Grover at Sterling Sound.
Watch for the anticipated debut EP Diamonds Are Forever targeted for release in 2023.
