Dizlerim Küpsis is the musical project of Mert Salkım, an artist originally from Turkey and currently based in Tallinn, Estonia. Working within genres like ambient, down-tempo, experimental, dub, glitch, leftfield, and electronica, Dizlerim Küpsis creates distinctive soundscapes using techniques such as sample manipulation, field recordings, electro-acoustic improvisation, and generative/algorithmic compositions.
In 2020, Dizlerim Küpsis made a bold entrance into the music scene with the release of his debut full-length album, “Kovan,” comprising tracks created over the previous two years. Since then, he has been consistently expanding his discography with a stream of singles, remixes, and mixtapes. In November 2023, he took a further leap with the release of the EP “Sorma,” delving deeper into his sound and boldly experimenting with dance music. During this period, he made significant contributions to the first Kitty Kant Collective compilation, showcasing his collaborative spirit with musicians and friends from around the world. Dizlerim Küpsis redefines live performances as original creative expressions rather than mere reproductions of recorded music. Each of his live sets is unique, characterized by improvisation, warmth, and custom tailoring for every occasion.
In collaboration with William Primett, he curated a series of ambient-oriented performances. In April 2024, he performed live as the opening act for Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Whenever he has the opportunity, he takes to the DJ deck to showcase experimental selections. His most recent project, the album ‘Seven Sleepy Songs’, was released this month. This album is recognized for being his most understated and texture-rich record to date, featuring immersive soundscapes that demonstrate his ongoing commitment to audio culture.
