Fog Chaser is the solo instrumental project of songwriter, composer, and producer Matt Evans. Inspired by the forests and mountains of his home in the Pacific Northwest, Fog Chaser writes dreamy, cinematic, neoclassical music that incorporates orchestral, acoustic, and electronic elements to create a distinctive sound that simultaneously recalls the stirring scores of composers like Nicholas Britell as well as the emotive weight of neoclassical artists like Olafur Arnalds, Nils Frahm, and Slow Meadow.
What started in 2021 simply as a monthly newsletter — where he shares new and in-process works ahead of release — Fog Chaser has quickly carved out a spot in the instrumental space: the few songs he’s officially released have amassed over 100,000 streams in a matter of months, earning placements on official Spotify playlists and garnering press coverage for his distinctive work.
The artist has just released “Florescence”. For the track, Fog Chaser teamed up with producer Chad Skinner (Alaskan Tapes; Sun Rain), who mixed and mastered the song from his studio Half Moon Audio.
