Pastis is a five-piece indie rock group from Helsinki drawing influence from genres such as Britpop, British rock, and modern indie-rock. The band has gathered radio plays on stations like BBC6 (UK), NDR(GER), and Radio Fritz (GER) as well as getting featured by online outlets. Pastis has recently finished their second album together with Finnish award-winning producer Lauri Eloranta. The first single titled “OhJaqueline” was released on the 8thof April 2022.
The band members describe their current track, titled “Waiting On My Girl” as a slow-motion car crash, and a musical photograph of a sandstorm in a water glass. The sensitive lyrics by Markus Nymalm are sung over a dreamy chord progression that develops it from shades of beauty and grace to alluring musical unruliness.
