Brooklyn-based Henry Ryeder is an artist and musician raised on the lush melodic midcentury popular songs of Henry Mancini, the Beatles, and Burt Bacharach. He later grew to love the compositions of avant-garde artists in electronic music, from the mind-bending classical compositions of Wendy Carlos and Suzanne Ciani to the hyperrealism of SOPHIE and Hannah Diamond. Never stopping to make these disparate aesthetics fit neatly, Henry likes to push the concept of composition into our century. His newest album, Tweepocalypse, is now available everywhere.
Discussing his latest project, the artist shares, “This record is an expression of anxieties I have about my role as an artist
in a collapsing and crumbling world.. Wanting to give, and knowing exactly what you can and must give, while also dealing with the existential dread that everyone is equally feeling. Though I’m feeling down, I recognize it’s important to use my voice and platform to communicate that feeling to others. Speaking about generational trauma isn’t an easy task, but on
Tweepocalypse I’m trying to rise to the challenge in my own way”.
