Born and raised in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Maddie Riccardo found herself as the center of attention in her parents’ living room, performing as a tiny toddler. “We have photos of me as, like, a two or three-year-old with a microphone, just singing my little heart out,” she shares. The only girl among six siblings, Maddie stood out as the family musician, following in her dad’s footsteps as he played guitar. Growing up, she was always singing, playing piano, and sharing musical moments with her family. Influenced by a mix of Bruce Springsteen and Adele, Maddie developed a love for both heartfelt ballads and electric guitar riffs.

By high school, the budding musician balanced Theater Club and cheerleading with songwriting, and performing at school talent shows. After graduating, she pursued a Music Business degree at Belmont University in Nashville, combining her artistic aspirations with her parents’ advice to understand the industry.

A country artist with a pop flair, Maddie describes herself as “not fully a Pop artist, just a super feely, emotional, storytelling songwriter.” The rising talent’s latest single, “We’re Around,” is a heartfelt tribute to her parents and their unwavering support throughout her musical journey. As she gears up to release her next single, “Band-Aid,” Maddie stays true to her roots, delivering authentic and relatable music that connects with her audience. This genuine approach is where Maddie is most in her element.

“‘Band-Aid is about two completely incompatible people that were trying to make it work,” she expresses. “Just two people who are not supposed to be together, and then you just keep trying, and it’s just terrible. So you know you have to just rip off the Band-Aid and end it.”
