Emerging R&B singer ShanDaria is poised for her moment in the spotlight. “‘Time’ is an urban love song that discusses not rushing into a relationship, emphasizing the importance of taking time to get to know someone and building a strong connection,” reveals ShanDaria.
Growing up in a blended family in Charlotte, ShanDaria’s voice was never really “discovered”; it was always present. From singing in kindergarten classrooms to harmonizing with her musical idols through headphones, music has been her constant companion. She cites icons such as Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Faith Evans, and Jazmine Sullivan as influences, developing a sound that blends classic R&B soul with a contemporary Southern edge.
“Faith Evans has always been at the top of my list. I connected with how she tells her stories through emotion, and I aim to do the same in my own music,” she says.
After starting her career post-college with recording an album and signing with a manager, the timing wasn’t quite right for her. ShanDaria chose to pivot, channeling her creativity into entrepreneurship and establishing a strong presence in Charlotte’s hair and beauty scene, all while music remained her true passion.
Years later, she felt drawn back to the studio. What began as a collaborative project evolved into a solo resurgence. Her breakout track “Rid Of You” delivered a powerful message about healing and moving on, resonating with listeners who appreciate authentic, mature R&B. Now, with “Livin” and a series of new songs on the horizon, ShanDaria is making it clear that this is just the beginning.
