Hohnen Ford is inspired by musical heroes Joni Mitchell, Nick Drake, and Fiona Apple. Songwriting became a growing obsession for whilst at the Royal Academy of Music, where she was one of the only women to study jazz voice. Listening to artists such as Bjork, Elliott Smith, and Beyonce forced Ford to examine what she had to say herself and instilled the bravery needed to commit to her own songs. Before the release of any music, Hohnen Ford was already selling out venues such as Vortex and St Pancras Old Church in London.

She recently announced her new EP I Wish I Had A God will drop this 3 August via Young Poet. Alongside the announcement of the EP, Hohnen Ford has shared the title track, a beautiful and disarmingly personal piano ballad. Listen here.

Hohnen Ford’s upcoming EP features five emotionally rich and intelligent songs that seamlessly blend jazz, pop, and folk. Her music resonates with fans who value honesty and depth in artists. Hohnen combines classic pop and American Songbook influences, delivering a refreshingly personal perspective. The EP is anticipated to further establish Hohnen Ford among modern songwriting talents, joining the ranks of artists such as Laufey, Waxahatchee, and Weyes Blood, whose work captivates young audiences.
